Meet Sunny, the newbie of the Knockout family. While she doesn't look like much right now, just give her a season to show her inner beauty. An added bonus, she has an intoxicating fragrance. A discovery I made when the perfume filled my car on the ride home. I love roses, but as an organic gardener the hybrid teas have proven too needy. The constant spraying of chemicals to eliminate disease was not something I was prepared to do. Not willing to forgo their beauty entirely I have concentrated on growing the hardy antique varieties and lean heavily toward those found on the EarthKind Rose List. The Knockout series of roses have made this list and for very good reason. They are not fussy, are incredibly disease resistant, grow like weeds and bloom pretty much nonstop until frost. You can find them in red, pink, mauve and now Sunny yellow. My fellow gardeners, run don't walk to your nearest nursery and grab yourself a couple of these beauties.

Hi Rhonda, I personally get giddy over just about any new plant, but getting that longed-for one is particularly exciting. I'm sure you'll be very happy with Sunny. :) (I have only one named plant, Piney, the Norfolk Pine. Oh, and Mini Me, the smaller Norfolk pine.)
Did you say fragrant! A knock out rose that is fragrant...that is a good thing! I have to have one! Thanks Rhonda for the heads up! Congrats on the new addition to your garden family!

Okay, radar on the lookout for those yellow knockouts! I only have a red one planted last summer but it's filled with new buds already. The yellow looks great with your purple blooms in the background.
Beautiful roses! It'll be great to see them in full bloom! Congradulations on the find :)
What can be more romantic than picket fence and roses? I love your dog's name. Maximus. :)

big chain stores never have as good a selection as a true gardener needs :)
I get so excited about new plants too, especially hibs. Love roses too. Actually love all plants. And there is something special about yellow roses. Don't ask me what, but they are so cheerful and well.....sunny-like!
Congrats! Will check out your link.
Miss Sunny is lovely! I am glad you found it Rhonda!
Love your new plant! Also the scenic shots are amazing - Paula from Idaho
I love the blue salvia in the background with the yellow in the front. I'm expecting blue salvia to arrive tomorrow for my container garden, and yes, I must agree with you, I'm giddy about the arrival of new plants. Happy blogging!
Rhonda, where are you??? I've missed your garden photos...Hope all is ok and you're back blogging soon!

Rhonda, it's always fun to meet another Rhonda. :)
I'll have to look for that knockout rose. I love yellow roses. And fragrant to boot! Great!

Nice to meet you, Sunny! ;)
we have this yellow rose bush at work where me and my friend have been trying to propagate because the bush is just gorgeous when in bloom. After 3 years of trying my friend finally succeeded and I'm still trying ... ;)
Nice garden.Congratulations!
Maximus is adorable, so noble looking. We thought about Sunny, but they are currently working on a new double yellow that is giving them a little problem. As tempted as I am to go ahead with this one I think I’m going to try and wait. We have such limited space to garden. :-)-- Randy
